The Sharenet Group is a collective of web consultants whose primary
experience has been within the educational community. Over our
careers as both professors and students we've come to see tremendous
potential in the new communications technologies, potential that
is not being realized.
For the most part, the web is currently being utilized to maximum benefit only by those with significant economic and technical resources. The Internet is perhaps the first mass media where this does not have to be the case. The "little guy" - small businesses, non-profits, educators and others - have the opportunity to make their case as powerfully as the powerful do.
